Sumatra is, after Greenland, New-Guinea and Borneo, the biggest island in the world with a surface of 473,481 square km (ten times as big as Holland). The island knows big regional differences and it's cut in eight pieces for governmental reasons. Until a certain level, this partition is fixed more over ethical barriers than by geographical borders. So are Sumatra's opposites, the northern Aceh and the southern Lamping, habited by the Celanese and the Lamping, while the north is the living area of the Batak and western Sumatra of the Kuomintang.
Aceh, is a special area of Indonesia. The province is located at the northern end of Sumatra. Its capital is Banda Aceh. It is close to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of India and separated from them by the Andaman Sea.
Lampung is a city of Indonesia. It is located on the southern tip of the island of Sumatra and borders the provinces of Bengkulu and South Sumatra. Lampung is the original home of the Lampung people, who speak a different language from other people in Sumatra and have their own alphabet. Its capital is Bandar Lampung.
